In the media

Still have questions? We have answers

  • The primary audience we had in mind while designing this course was expecting dads whose partner is currently pregnant.

However, we welcome anyone who thinks this course could help them on their parenting journey!

    That could include:

    • Men who are thinking about trying to become a dad

    • Men who are trying to conceive or adopt

    • Current dads who still want to do the personal growth and relationship work

We also want to acknowledge that this first version of the course emphasizes just one particular parenting and relationship dynamic amongst many possible permutations. We both happen to be married men in heterosexual relationships with women who were able to conceive naturally without much complication.

We know that this is not the only pathway to parenthood, and as we build upon the course in the future we want to make it more inclusive and representative of more diverse family experiences.

  • If you’ve checked out any of the expecting dad books, then you likely know why we felt so compelled to create this course… They’re about 1-2 decades outdated. They basically assume you just want to do the bare minimum to avoid divorce. “Don’t make your wife cook and do the dishes when she’s 8 months pregnant”.

We started with a different premise. We created this program for the men who don’t accept the bare minimum. It’s for men who want to raise the bar on what it means to be a great father and husband. It’s for men who want to enter fatherhood feeling truly prepared, competent, and confident.

So we don’t dumb things down and give you generic advice like “do some extra work around the house to help your pregnant wife.” We give you a detailed, step-by-step blueprint for becoming the best possible dad and partner you can be. And we’re confident that it’s 10x better than any other single resource out there.

  • The self-guided course is an amazing resource to help anyone prepare for fatherhood on their own schedule and timeline. We created that program to maximize accessibility for folks that can’t currently make the live program work with their schedules.

But if you are able to make the live group program work with your schedule, we would highly encourage you to go that route. There is so much power in learning alongside a community of fellow dads and building those personal connections.

  • Yes! If you start the self-paced course and then you decide you want to go deeper in a group setting, that’s totally doable. We would just need to sort out timing and figure out which upcoming cohort to add you to. Just email us at hello@fatherhoodunlocked.com and we’ll get you taken care of.

  • For the self-paced course, yes. The course content and resources are a great way to invest in your personal growth and relationship — regardless of where you are in the fatherhood journey.

For the live group program, we currently are limiting availability to expecting dads. The program is designed around connecting men who are at the same stage in the fatherhood journey, and it wouldn’t work as well if we had current dads mixed in.

  • It’s very simple: if you’re unhappy with your purchase of either the self-paced course or the group program, just email us within 14 days and we’ll give you a full refund — no questions asked.

We’re confident you’re going to love this program and see real results in very little time, so we want to remove any doubt from your mind if you’re on the fence about enrolling.

  • Generally speaking, the sooner the better. This program is an investment in yourself and your relationship. The sooner you make it, the sooner you start seeing the dividends come in. And those benefits continue to grow over time as you invest more and more.

But if you want more specific guidance based on your current timeline, here is our best guidance:

    • If your partner is already pregnant, then the sooner you can take the course, the better. This program is designed to help you out from the very beginning of the pregnancy journey through to the first few months postpartum. But also don’t worry if you’re only finding this and you’re in the third trimester — better late than never :)

    • If you’re trying to conceive, you could either start working through the course material now or wait until you’re pregnant. There is no big rush.

  • There are around 5 hours of video lessons and 5-10 hours worth of guided exercises and conversations to complete on your own time.

We typically recommend you move through the course at whatever pace feels right for you given you current circumstance. We detail how to think about this in the intro module of the course, but here are a few potential paths you could take:

    • The slow burn: You’re early in the pregnancy journey, so you have plenty of time and can work through the course material at whatever pace feels right for you and your partner. We recommend going through most of the video content in the first few weeks so you understand the full picture, and then you can slowly work through the various exercises over several months.

    • The 11th hour crash course: You’re in the final 1-2 months (or maybe weeks!) of pregnancy, so you want to really crank through the course as quickly as possible. Maybe you only have time to consume the videos and do about 25% of the exercises before baby arrives. Don’t sweat it. You can always continue to work through this stuff over the coming months as you settle into parenthood.

    • The middle way: Or, if you’re somewhere in the midpoint of pregnancy, you probably want to work through most of the course material in the next 2-3 months.

  • If you know you’re going to miss 2 or more of the live sessions, we recommend you start with the self-paced course and then explore joining a future live cohort. The live program has lots of small breakout groups, and if you miss 2 sessions you effectively miss 1/3 of the whole program.

If you’re just going to miss one live session, don’t sweat it. We record every session so you can watch on your own time.
